and so it begins...

Okay. 

I've tried this before. I wanted to be the cool kid that had a blog, but it ended up like my workout routine. I start out strong and a few weeks later, I end up not having time, Crafting entries becomes a chore, I make excuses and the blog goes silent. 

But this time is different.
(or at least that's what I keep telling myself) 

I may blog every day or there could be weeks of radio silence. The goal is to fall in love with writing again, connect with friends near and far, find a rhythm that keeps the process fun and stick with it. 

This year is about living a whole life. A life grounded in my passion around improving public education, my love for Las Vegas, figuring out the State Board of Education, and the random adventures that life throws my way. It's taken me too long to learn that I am more than my job, so I will write about what pushes my thinking, makes me happy, drives me crazy and puts a smile on my face. 

That should give me plenty to share with the world. (Even if the only person who reads this is my mama.)
